The Milton Consort makes a very welcome return to Sevenoaks to mark the 400th anniversary year of Shakespeare’s death with a performance of 40 of his sonnets, accompanied by Elizabethan music on period instruments.
Actor Peter Hamilton Dyer and musicians Keith McGowan and Arngeir Hauksson are steeped in Shakespeare, having performed many times at Shakespeare’s Globe. Peter Hamilton Dyer has recently been acting in the RSC A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and frequently performs in BBC radio drama. Tonight’s music is selected and arranged by Keith and Arngeir from the works of Elizabethan composer Anthony Holborne.
This recital in the intimacy of the Ship Theatre will be a memorable start to the 2016 festival.
